Mirror, mirror on the wall, who had the best party of all? The spell was cast Saturday night on more than 350 guests as the 115th Ladies Hospital Aid Society Gala got underway at the Omni William Penn. “An Evening of Enchantment” began with a VIP cocktail party for the honorees and their families and a phalanx of little fairies lined up to greet them. The late Dr. Charles Copeland was honored with the Visionary Legacy award. Accepting was his family, including his wife of 50 years, Margaret. Dr. Thomas Starzl (with Joy) was the 2013 Doctor of Distinction. The other awardees — Kirby Wilson and Drs. Jorg Gerlach, Alain Corcos and Arthur Levine — joined event chairs Judy Woffington and Bev Wukich in the Urban Room for cocktails, dancing and bidding on the silent auction. It was all to benefit the LHAS Enchanted Forest at the UPMC Mercy Trauma and Burn Center.
